About Us

Being healthy is not a destination, it is a manner of traveling and we are here to help you along your journey. We all know we need to make improvements and we ultimately know why, but we don’t necessarily know how. Many well-intentioned doctors give all the right advice to follow, but patients are still left to try to figure out how to work that advice into their busy lives.

The Classroom offers numerous workshops, classes and discussions to help our students take simple steps towards living a healthier lifestyle. By incorporating a functional medicine philosophy, practitioners at The Classroom offer practical and long-term approaches, many of which focus on food and movement as medicine.

The Classroom connects students with local experts in their various fields of wellness, such as Nutritionists, Health Coaches, Chiropractors, Physical Therapists, Meditation and Mind/Body Specialists, Psychologists and Culinary Specialists.

Try this recipe out this weekend: ⁠

Ingredients:⁠
_⁠
💥1 lb. of Top Sirloin Steak (cut into 1-inch. cubes)⁠
💥1 tbsp. of Tapioca Flour⁠
💥1 tsp Sea Salt⁠
💥1/2 tsp Black Pepper⁠
💥1 1/2 tbsps Extra Virgin Olive Oil⁠
💥2 Carrots (medium, chopped)⁠
💥1 Yellow Potato (large, chopped)⁠
💥1 tsp Tumeric (ground)⁠
💥1 tsp Coriander (ground)⁠
💥1 tsp Cumin (ground)⁠
💥1 tsp Ground Ginger⁠
💥2 cups Beef Broth⁠
💥4 stalks Green Onion (green parts only, chopped)⁠
💥1/2 cup Cilantro (chopped)⁠
_⁠
▪️STEP 1: Put the steak into a mixing bowl with tapioca flour, salt, and pepper. Toss until the steak is well coated. ⁠
_⁠
▪️STEP 2: Heat oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add beef and brown it on all sides. Remove the beef from the pot and set aside. (May need to do the browning in batches to prevent the steak from burning the bottom of the pot.)⁠
_⁠
▪️STEP 3: Add carrots, potatoes, turmeric, coriander, cumin, and ginger to the pot. Stir 2-3 minutes frequently. Add the beef back to the pan. (Add a bit of water if the spices are sticking to the pan)⁠
_⁠
▪️STEP 4: Add the broth to the pot, being sure to scrape the browned bits off the bottom. Cover with a tight-fitting lid, reduce heat to medium-low and let simmer for 20 minutes.⁠
_⁠
▪️STEP 5: Remove the lid and stir in green onions and cilantro. Continue to simmer uncovered for 10 min.⁠
_⁠
▪️STEP 6: Divide into bowls and enjoy!⁠

Try this recipe out this weekend: ⁠

Ingredients:⁠
_⁠
💥1 lb. of Top Sirloin Steak (cut into 1-inch. cubes)⁠
💥1 tbsp. of Tapioca Flour⁠
💥1 tsp Sea Salt⁠
💥1/2 tsp Black Pepper⁠
💥1 1/2 tbsps Extra Virgin Olive Oil⁠
💥2 Carrots (medium, chopped)⁠
💥1 Yellow Potato (large, chopped)⁠
💥1 tsp Tumeric (ground)⁠
💥1 tsp Coriander (ground)⁠
💥1 tsp Cumin (ground)⁠
💥1 tsp Ground Ginger⁠
💥2 cups Beef Broth⁠
💥4 stalks Green Onion (green parts only, chopped)⁠
💥1/2 cup Cilantro (chopped)⁠
_⁠
▪️STEP 1: Put the steak into a mixing bowl with tapioca flour, salt, and pepper. Toss until the steak is well coated. ⁠
_⁠
▪️STEP 2: Heat oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add beef and brown it on all sides. Remove the beef from the pot and set aside. (May need to do the browning in batches to prevent the steak from burning the bottom of the pot.)⁠
_⁠
▪️STEP 3: Add carrots, potatoes, turmeric, coriander, cumin, and ginger to the pot. Stir 2-3 minutes frequently. Add the beef back to the pan. (Add a bit of water if the spices are sticking to the pan)⁠
_⁠
▪️STEP 4: Add the broth to the pot, being sure to scrape the browned bits off the bottom. Cover with a tight-fitting lid, reduce heat to medium-low and let simmer for 20 minutes.⁠
_⁠
▪️STEP 5: Remove the lid and stir in green onions and cilantro. Continue to simmer uncovered for 10 min.⁠

▪️STEP 6: Divide into bowls and enjoy!⁠

Your kidneys need water to filter waste from the blood. Keeping hydrated also helps to prevent various infections. If you are severely dehydrated, your kidneys may stop working, causing toxins to build up in your body.⁠
